Why We Built This Site
South Carolina gives broad access to many public records, but Greenwood County records are split by court level and office. The Clerk of Court maintains General Sessions, Common Pleas, Family Court, Juvenile Court, and Register of Deeds functions. Probate Court handles estates, marriage licenses, guardianships, conservatorships, and commitment matters. Magistrate Court and municipal courts handle many lower-level criminal, traffic, bond, and ordinance cases.
That split matters in practical terms. A person searching for a civil filing may need the Public Index and the Clerk of Court. A person searching for a divorce record may need the Family Court Public Portal or the clerk's certified-copy process. A person checking an estate file may need the Greenwood Probate Search or the South Carolina Probate File Search.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any South Carolina court, Greenwood County office, sheriff's office, clerk's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or portal status is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. The document has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee. That revenue supports the public reference content. We do not control what those tools charge or what appears in their results.
